Another day done

I wasn't able to fit a workout in yesterday, getting the house sorted out kind of took over.  Rather glad I'd gotten two workouts in Monday, didn't make me feel like such a slacker.  I did make it down to the track this morning, and did my 5 kms.  The time for my 5 kms is rather disappointing though.  Just last June I was running my 5 kms between 30 and 33 minutes, but I do know that I can easily get back there again.  So here is my numbers

Distance : 5 kms
Time : 41 minutes
Laps : Run 2.5 laps, walk .5 lap, repeat.

I just need to keep pushing myself (within reason of course), and get back to where I was!  From that point I can work on improving my time & distance.

Day 4

Boot Camp was hard today!!!  After doing the Kimbo Video yesterday, all the arm work was just killer this morning.  But, got it done :)

I'm feeling good about myself, great about how well I'm doing.  I may be the weight I was last fall, but I have come to far to let it bring me down.  I was in the pool this afternoon with my boys and my ex... and I do admit I was nervous about this.  My ex has not seen me unclothed since our separation, so it was something that felt awkward to do.  But I got to say, I felt great in the end!  I just have to look at it as how far I have come, not how much further to go.  He on the other hand has developed quite the paunch lol.  I am now living my life, and making the most of it... there is nothing to feel ashamed about at all.

Working my way back

It's been an uphill battle getting myself back on track, and I'm still a long way from being there.  I'm making a rule for myself, one that I will not break until I am 100% back on track.

I will not sit down to watch TV until I have completed a workout that day, or I must jump on my elliptical while I watch.

Tonight while watching Fringe I managed to get 35 minutes completed, it was much harder than it should have been.  I have two big events coming up for 2011.

The first one is that Bug wants his birthday party (5th) held at a Wave Pool, which will be in early January.  This means that I will be in a swimsuit around my ex... yuck!  I do and don't care about him seeing me in a swimsuit, but I do want to look good!  I know that I look so much better than the last time he saw me naked, and a swimsuit is as close as he will ever get to seeing me naked again... so I want to look incredible!

The second event is that I am planning a trip to Mexico for some time in April or May.  I still need to speak with my ex about dates, but I'm hopeful that something can be worked out.  I want to look rockin in a bathing suit for that trip!  I want to feel 100% comfortable sitting out on the beach, especially since I will likely be going alone.

One day at a time

Ever get that workout high?  For years and years I looked and waited for it, to no avail.  Last year while going through the most stressful situation I had ever been in (Husband left me for someone 16 years younger than him), I manage to luckily find that workout high.  I would get on my elliptical every night, work my body hard, and get all the anger I had out... it was the best therapy (although I did see a counselor, knew I couldn't handle it completely on my own) I could have asked for.  It could have been that going from such a low throughout the day, to the wonderful rush of endorphins while working out is what eventually led me to find that wonderful, elusive high.  Whatever it was, has led me to this point... enjoying any and all workouts immensely!

If I can keep my momentum up, I am seriously considering working my way towards taking a personal training course.  There is an option through a local university that is online, over two years.  This would set me up perfectly for when my youngest goes to school full time.  I've been thinking long and hard over what I should look at doing when that dreaded day comes.  Whatever I do, needs to worked around the boys school schedule, as I want to be home when they finish for the day.  Something to think about anyways!

I did make it to Boot Camp today!!!  Felt wonderful to push myself!

Working...

Well, I went for a run this morning, the first one all week.  It was a little shy of 5km, but spent the last half with a stitch in my right side. Last week I managed to run 6.4km, which shocked and impressed the hell out of me!  I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm happy with my progress.

I'm thinking that I will start taking the younger two kids out for a bike ride in the trailer Tuesday & Thursday.  I want to increase my workouts again, and think this is a great way to get something in.

I feel like I've kind of stalled with my workouts, I need to push forward again.  I really need to get things moving...

2 days!!!

Well, I think this might finally be the roll I have been looking for!  As sore as I am from yesterdays run, I still jumped on my elliptical tonight for 35 minutes!  Yes, it hurt like hell.  Yes, I should have been able to go longer.  But, I at least did it!  I have plans to jump on for the rest of the week, except for Saturday, as I will be out for the evening.

It's not like I have a lot to keep me occupied in the evenings.  Kids are in bed, house is usually in decent shape, and if I'm going to watch TV, should make use of that time instead of sitting on my ass!  So, here's to the next chapter of my life... maintaining!

Holy Crap!

Well, it has been some time since I jumped on my elliptical... not such a good thing!  I may be keeping my weight steady, but my endurance is shot to hell.  I can't believe I let this happen the last 4-5 months, especially the last 2 months.  While at my parents house, and then settling into this new house the first few months, it was so much more difficult to get my workouts in... but my excuse for the last 2 months is not good enough.

With a meeting tomorrow night, and a few late nights for my weekend (boys are at their father's hosue), it could be next week before I get a chance to really buckle down again.  I want to get back to where I was in August, and take it so much further too.  Not only do I have the elliptical, I also have a Wii Fit Plus as well.  I also have easier access to the local indoor running track then I did over the summer.  There is no more excuses!!

A little more fun!

Three months back I had a little fun one night (here's the link to that post), and tried on clothes that I had been saving to wear for when I lost weight again... well, I tried those clothes back on today. Guess what, they are all too big now! I knew this could be an issue, but a small part of me didn't think it could happen. I will now have to decide whether or not to alter these clothes to fit, or whether to donate them.

I'm not all that upset, as it give me a great excuse to do a little more shopping! My style has changed over the last 10 years, so some of my old clothes don't exactly fit who I am today. The fact that I love the look of the clothes out right now helps to ease the pain of getting rid of the stuff I saved.

Now to just get some child free time to shop!

I'm Back!

I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted! Life has certainly been crazy enough to keep me busy though. Survived living with my parents for the month, but was more than ready to leave when all was said and done. It's going to be a good week before the boys and I are totally settled in, but progress is being made.

The worst part about the transition time, was I did not get any exercise in at all!!! It felt really odd to not jump on the elliptical or head to the track each day, felt like something was missing. Tonight I finally got my butt in gear, and jumped on the elliptical. I have it set up rather nicely in the TV room, so was actually able to watch something while worked. That was a nice change as I had no music or TV when I worked out at the old house.

The bad part was only getting 35 minutes done, although that isn't too bad considering I haven't been on in almost 2 months.

Oh, I must be doing something right! During my little break, I did not gain anything. In fact, I have actually lost another 2lbs. Now to just get down to my goal, and see if I need to take it further or not.

Working my way back

Hello, hello, hello! I survived my first camping trip with the boys alone just fine, and so did they! I did not get any runs in, and my eating while better, was not great. We did get a number of good walks in though. Amazingly I did not gain any weight while I was gone, and am now slowly losing again! I have less than 1lbs to go, and I will have lost an amazing 40lbs!!!! I am now weighing in at 143.2lbs.

I am not sure if I will make my race this weekend, I have been having some bladder issues stemming from a bladder infection a number of weeks ago. It is getting better, but I do not want to risk making it worse either. Just have to see how the rest of the week goes.

Starting on Friday, I will have 3 mornings a week with just Little Man. I will be heading to the track at that time to get my runs in, he should be happy enough in the stroller as long as it moves. I am really looking forward to that, I want to keep my training going, and not lose what ground I have gained.

Day 88

Well, things are going, just extremely busy! I will finally be out of the house tomorrow morning, which is extremely good. I am so stressed from this move, I am just grateful that this aspect is finally over.

My eating this week has been absolutely atrocious! I have not had time or the inclination to worry about what goes into my body, and my body is not happy. I am starting to break out a little, not much, but more than I have had the last few months. I have also not had any spare time to workout or run, which is not helping things for me at all. Those workouts were how I relieved all the stress I am under.

I cannot say things will be back to normal the next two weeks, as I will be camping with the boys. But, things will improve. I will not have the crazy stresses I have had the last few weeks, I will have time to eat well, and even time to get walks and possibly runs in. I am hoping that I can run with Little Man in the stroller, while the other two ride their bikes. Not too sure how well it work, but I am optimistic.

Day 75

Got my run in yesterday afternoon, it was a really good one as well. I was able to run for 8 minutes, walk 1, run 8, walk 1, run 8, and then another little walk. That is a total of 24 minutes running, with only 3 short breaks!!! I am so very close to running straight through, it is going to be great when I finally do that!!! My time isn't going to be great for 5km, but I at least will do it. Which reminds me, I had better get myself registered for the run!!!

Other than that, my eating has been pretty bad this week. With trying to pack, and deal with the boys, I don't really have the time to make good meals. It will be nice to get back to healthier eating when all this is done. Only one more week till I am out of this house!!!

I have had a lot of comments lately about how I look. Friends who haven't seen me in a while are shocked at how much weight I have lost, it is a wonderful feeling. I look in the mirror and see a totally different person, one that I have missed for 12 years. That's right, it has been over 12 years since I have been under 150lbs, that is a long time. Here's hoping I can break below 140lbs for September, only 6.5lbs to go.

Day 55

Well, I survived, and enjoyed, my camping trip with the boys... but I sure am tired right now! I did fairly well with my eating, but my water intake was way down. I have a feeling though that I will actually be down tomorrow, instead of up like I feared.

Tomorrow should see me back in gear, and on the elliptical in the evening.
